They should not be cleaned on location like wall-to-wall carpet. 9 Steps for Area Rug Cleaning

1. Pre-inspection and Pick up
We will pick up your rug from your home or business. Upon pick up, your rug will be thoroughly inspected.

2. Dry Soil Removal
We use various techniques to “dust” rugs from the front and back, ensuring embedded dirt is thoroughly removed to protect the rug's fibers and prevent damage.

3. Pre-Condition
The rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soil depending on the fiber content and soiling type.

4. Pre-spot and Fringe Preparation
Any potentially difficult spots will be treated with special solutions to increase the chances of removal. Special treatment is used to remove tough stains and spots. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.

5. Shampoo
Most rugs are cleaned with an Oriental Rug shampoo specially designed to get maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive natural fibers. The treatment is tailored to the rug's materials, including wool, nylon, synthetic, and silk rugs, to ensure the best results.

6. Rise or Wash
Depending on the type of rug, it will be rinsed with extraction equipment on both sides or washed in a wash pit designed especially for Oriental Rugs. Controlled water usage is important to prevent damage and ensure safe cleaning.

7. Speed Dry
Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. The drying process takes careful work to keep rugs in optimal condition.

8. Finishing
When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs. The finishing work ensures the best results and helps in keeping your rug looking its best.

9. Post Inspection and Delivery
A final inspection is performed before the rug is returned to the customer, ensuring it is ready for delivery. Your rug will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered. Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you.
